SHCM Invited to Attend Annual Conference of China Electricity Council, Showcasing Intelligent Bearing System Achievements That Draw Industry-Wide Attention

On July 23, 2025, as a member unit of the Hydropower Branch of the China Electricity Council, SHCM was invited to attend the "2025 Liaison Officer Working Conference of the Thermal Power Generation Branch and Hydropower Branch of the China Electricity Council."
Chairman Wei Dong attended the meeting as a representative of a member unit and delivered a speech. Chief Engineer Yang Liang presented a keynote speech titled "Application Research on Intelligent Bearing Systems for Hydroelectric Generator Units." The innovative technological achievements shared in the presentation precisely address the current safety operation requirements for the frequent start-stop cycles of units in integrated hydropower-wind-solar power stations. This provides practical reference for equipment upgrades under the new power system framework, sparking extensive attention and lively discussions among the attending guests.

SHCM intelligent bearing system comprises high-performance composite thrust bearings and guide bearings, integrated with an online oil monitoring system, a cooling regulation and monitoring system, and an intelligent monitoring and diagnostics system. Combined with unit bearing installation, vibration, oil quality, cooling capacity, and sensors, it forms an "Intelligent Bearing Shafting System." Through multi-source information fusion, this system enables advanced fault warning for hydroelectric unit shafting, lifecycle management, design optimization, and operational optimization. It aims to comprehensively enhance the intelligence, reliability, and safety of hydroelectric unit bearing systems, supporting power plants in achieving "condition-based maintenance," energy savings, and reduced consumption.
Currently, the system has been successfully implemented in Units 2 and 7 of Gongzui Hydropower Station, Unit 1 of Hongjiadu Hydropower Station, Unit 3 of Liujiaxia Hydropower Station, and Unit 4 of Laxiwa Hydropower Station. Relevant achievements have been evaluated by industry experts as reaching "the international advanced level in similar fields, with some technologies leading globally."

Currently, the state is promoting the digital and intelligent upgrading of equipment. In active response to the development requirements of new quality productive forces, Sanhuan Composite Materials has deepened its research and development of intelligent bearing systems. It has successfully developed intelligent bearing systems for hydroelectric generating units, digital main shaft sliding bearing systems for wind power applications, and digital bearing systems for cement and mining equipment. Concurrently, the company is advancing the construction of its Chengdu digital factory, accelerating its transformation into a "digital and intelligent enterprise.
