Smoky Falls Hydropower Station, Canada

In 2013, Alstom Canada was responsible for the capacity increase and renovation project of the units at the Smoky Falls Hydropower Station. SHCM was invited to participate in the bidding for this project alongside bearing suppliers from the United Kingdom and Russia.

Alstom Canada is renowned within the global Alstom group for its stringent quality control standards. Compounded by the highly selective nature of the supervising company and the project owner regarding product choices, the client dispatched a joint technical, quality, and commercial team to conduct an on-site inspection and audit of SHCM. Following a comprehensive evaluation of all three suppliers by the Alstom team, SHCM's FZB3G product fully met the project's critical requirements across performance, quality control processes, and delivery timelines. Consequently, SHCM successfully won the bid, becoming the designated supplier of thrust bearings for the project.

Within the 4-month manufacturing period, the company strictly organized production in accordance with the client's highest standards and ultimately completed product delivery on schedule, successfully meeting the owner's requirements.
